Mish Mash

Wow i wish i had something special or interesting to say about this weekend but i dont. In saying this, i do have a list of things i thought would be cool to blog about but realized that i can't muster up a full sentence this morning, let alone a whole post. So in list form this was the weekend from inside my head:

1. I went to a coworkers party on Saturday. Hes a nice guy dont get me wrong but is it rude or snobby of me to say that i like to keep coworkers at work only? im like this because i have seen many a person get fired or quit due to making friends at work. I am friendly but i cant be a friend if you know what i mean.

2. i was with my sis and her new boy toy the other day. As we were all discussing our childhoods and i was talking about my love for polly pockets, he comes out and tells us that at ten he made his first bong. He thought it was funny, my response "that is the saddest thing i have ever heard, you poor thing, did you even get a chance to have a childhood?" and i was sincerely sad about it, no sarcasm in my voice, this guy just got over lung cancer and he's a good guy so to hear that he didnt have a childhood just seems unfair. he admitted that he never really did have a childhood and he was okay with that.

3. Tasha told me that her bf never wants to get married. Tasha has been planning her wedding since we were 12 years old. i told her maybe he isnt the right guy then. She said " people change, plus i dont really need a wedding any way right?" ya sure if your the type of girl or guy who doesn't want a big party and celebration of your love to someone else. However, tasha is the type who wants that party. yet again she is changing herself to suit him, but what can i say, ive been there done that but she insists that her love for this guy is different than what me and Mr.D went through. Sure every relationship is different but me and hers have one important thing in common, the other party in the relationship doesnt see us the way we see ourselves, and we cant be ourselves around them.

4. Me and natasia had a convo about how much looks matter when choosing a mate. We both agreed that they are important. The person you choose to be with should be attractive to you, im not sayin they gotta be GQ, but when you look at them you should think " wow! your hot!" our friend tania disagrees and says " well i like dating ugly guys because they are easier to talk to" she thinks me and natasia are shallow.... i think that dating someone because they are ugly is the dumbest thing ive ever heard. Your holding up the line for that guy, there could be a woman out there who thinks that "ugly" guy is gorgeous!

5. i have another date with greek boy Thursday :)

6. i lost 5 pounds!!!!!!! :)

I totally agree with you and Natasia that any guy you date/marry should be good looking. Now, my husband can't be considered "hot" by any stretch of the imagination, by the standards of modern society or the big billboards around town, but I think he's handsome so who cares what anyone else thinks.

exactly!!!! THATS WHAT IM SAYING! there has to be that something about them that YOU think is attractive! like i dated this guy once and everyone thought he was ugly, me? i couldnt keep my eyes off of him! he had these green eyes that were just too beautiful to look away from and so i was attracted to him. it didnt matter that he wasnt conventionally hot, he was my kinda hot and thats what matters!

So totally agree with you. My hubby, even though will be 33 soon, looks like he's just graduated high school...lol. However is is cute, which in my mind is HOT! His personality makes him my fabio! (I think I just aged myself 10 yrs by using "fabio" lol) But I can tell you this....him and I together make one beautiful child!

im so glad you guys agree with me. sometimes she makes me feel like i really am shallow. i dont think she actually understands what im trying to say or something when i tell her that attraction is important. i am by no means shallow, i just think that i would want to be with someone who im attracted to physically and mentally, and i think everyone deserves to feel like they are wanted that way in return! i mean i dont want to be dating a guy who says " well connie isnt all that attractive but shes sweet so ill date her."

Hooray for 5 and 6! I'm not a fan of getting together with people outside of work either, but that's just because I'm antisocial :)
