Its all about the he said she said bullshit

So a very interesting topic came up while i was having my lunchtime date with a friend and it ended with the question:  What do you do if your best friends boyfriend is hitting on you?

I mean they stare a little too long, or they laugh a little extra at your jokes but you have no real evidence, nothing you can take to your friend that says "look, your boyfriends kind of a creep, you should drop him like a freshmens underwear"  Do you avoid the couple in question or is there a way to put a cork in it?

What i would do? make absolutley certain i wasnt subconciously causing the problem. I told her "if the guys cute, that makes it difficult" her response is "well it really doesnt matter if the guy is cute or not" In my opinion, the persons hotness rating can help you point the shame finger in the right direction.

I know that women get blamed for this kind of behaviour too much, its almost second nature to see your guy checking another girl out and think "bitch your tits are  fake, and if you put a shirt over them my boyfriend wouldnt be staring!" all of a sudden that girl, who had very little to do with the wandering eye of your boyfriend, has become enemy numero uno.  But its easier to death stare the girl then do the dirty work i.e. realize that your boyfriend is a douchebag. As with most things however true blame is usually split 50/50.

So in this paticular case, lets say the boyfriend whose staring you down is in fact cute. You noticed. You cant say "oh well i dont see him that way because he's dating my friend" really? you didnt notice that this guy has a 6 pack and eyes the color of the sea? cuz i dont believe you. Now being attractive and being attracted are two different things.

You can look at your best friends guy and think " nice job girl" without your vagina jumping up and down for a turn on the candy pole of love. Lots of guys are attractive, but that pull of lust that comes from your belly? that goes beyond looks!  So my inner question wouldnt be"am i attracted to this guy" My inner question would be "is this person attractive?"

Lets say the guy is attractive and is now noticing you a little too closley, theres a very good chance thats not a coincedence! theres a chance that he noticed you looking appreciatvely in his direction, he may have even felt you flirting with him a bit.... who doesnt flirt with attractive people? thats like not talking in a baby voice to a baby.... its  reflex. So now you need to check yourself everytime your in his presence. Ask yourself "would i talk like this to my brother" if the answer is yes, your good to go. If the answer gives you the creeps, then you know. If your having brother/sister type conversations with this guy and your still being checked out, then its no longer your problem! The only thing you can do is wait for the creeper to do something stupid so you and your friend can go bobbit on his ass.

If you dont think this guy is attractive, then the bobbit part still stands but at least you can feel blameless and clean! What do you think? would you still tell your friend if nothing legit had happened yet? do you also think that your own reaction to this guy should be looked at as well, or is it all on the guy regardless?
